Each disciple cycle has a ‘coach’ – the coach is one that finds someone in their oikos (circle of influence) with a spiritual hunger and begins to take that person on a ‘journey’ of intentional discipleship (8 months to a year, during this time the “student” is reproducing – reaching their oikos with the same disciple cycle ‘pattern’).
The ‘front seat’ of the disciple cycle visually symbolizes the role of the coach(trainer) – to disciple their “student”, symbolized by the ‘back seat’, through this 14 spoke (step) discipleship process.
This is a relationship of time, accountability, and intentional training(discipleship). The goal of the coach is to guide the disciple cycle in the right direction, while being sensitive to the leading of the Holy Spirit – to make sure that the ‘student’ on the ‘back seat’ is continuing to ‘pedal’ on this journey of life-changing discipleship. The goal of the disciple cycle should be reproduction by the student - as he or she moves to the front seat and places someone from their oikos on the back seat of their own disciple cycle.
